With the theme “Matatag na Pagkakaisa ng Pambansang Pulisya at Mamamayan tungo sa Kapayapaan at Kaunlaran” Police Regional Office 8 headed by PCSUPT REY LAQUIHON LAÑADA, Regional Director spearheaded a blood letting activity in coordination with the Regional Health Service8 personnel and Eastern Visayas Regional Medical Center, Tacloban City Blood Bank staff on July 12, 2010 at around 9:00 o’clock in the morning at Pro8 Grandstand, Camp Ruperto Kangleon, Palo, leyte. .
The activity is in line with the month-long celebration of Police Community Relation (PCR). It was attended by all members of the Command Group, Directorial Staff, and Mr Roland Gorgonia, Chief Medical Technician of Eastern Visayas Regional Medical Center, Tacloban City.
During the keynote message of PCSUPT REY L LAÑADA, Regional Director who stresses that he is very much thankful for the support of the National Voluntary Blood Services Program of the Department of Health, and that blood donation is a manifestation of man’s willingness to sacrifice for others. It is an act of true public service that is geared towards the promotion of love for our brothers in the community who are in need of blood. There were fifty one (51) PNP personnel (Blood Donors) coming from the Field Training Program.
The activity ended at about 1:00 in the afternoon of same date. The blood letting activity was truly a successful one as shown by all the blood donors who did not expect anything in return for their act of volunteerism and selflessness.
The Police Community Relation Month celebration is a part of the ongoing PNP program. The celebration also includes the awarding of NGOs, PCR units, best barangay peace keeping desk, best family Juvenile Gender Sensitivity Section, among others.
